For this role, I have been working on donor and provenance research for a group of Pre-Columbian materials gifted to Colgate in 2001. Some of these objects may be subject to Mexican laws protecting cultural patrimony. My research would help the Longyear Museum to better understand the cultural background and source communities of these objects and support the ongoing voluntary repatriation to Mexico.

In this role, I primarily facilitated the curation of exhibitions by writing acquisition proposals per Picker's mission, composing informative and interactive labels, and making social media posts to inform broader audiences about our collections. I also facilitated gallery installation by handling pieces. As a result of my work, I have gained professional experience in database research using appropriate academic search engines, object handling, TMS, and Adobe Indesign, and creating accessible and engaging gallery exhibitions.

In this role, I created public-facing weekly What’s Going On emails detailing professional opportunities for students through conducting industry insights research,  concising information from job-search sites, and sat in out-reach calls to prestigious organizations. I also welcomed and received visiting potential campus partners to ensure their smooth navigation at Colgate.

In this research role, I curated an exhibit about one of Utica's most prominent newspapers, Saturday Globe, through collaboration with professional staff at the history center. Working at the center allowed me to conduct archival research on its extensive historical files and connection to local historians. I have also developed an archival system for rehousing more than 10,000 issues of newspapers dated back to 1831 housed in the center using Microsoft Excel to make historical documents widely available to researchers. Toward the end of my research, I created visually appealing and educational exhibit panels and interactives using Microsoft Publisher to increase public engagement with local history.
