Rotated through three teams: TMT (Technology, Media and Telecoms), Life Sciences & Healthcare and Energy & Natural Resources.As an Intern I supported account management, performed research to understand the client and their issues, monitored for relevant recent developments, developed communications collateral (media lists, Q&As, etc.) and drafted messages and stakeholder engagement materials.Key responsibilities included:- Media monitoring for clients and their competitors during financial results and other announcements - Relationship building with journalists in order to pitch relevant stories - Developing quarterly/ half-yearly communication calendars - Research for new business, identifying gaps in the market and company offerings- Analysis of profiling opportunities for C-suite executives

• Delivered weekly campaign presentations and pitches to FTI’s Strategic Communications team. Learned the value of precision while selling a five-minute elevator pitch with no visual aids. These tasks required clear and persuasive communication, as well as accurate data recollection to respond to questions. • Received training in corporate communications from practice and sector teams. Gained knowledge and engaged with the critical conversations that each sector is tackling, considering future obstacles, and the role FTI Consulting plays in mitigating these risks. • Completed weekly assignments including written assessments, media summaries and press releases, which require careful planning and time allocation. Really enjoyed the opportunity to refine writing style by assessing the subtle distinctions journalists make to convey opinion, and consequently adapting each of my pieces depending on the target audience.

• Collaboration within the team to ensure the research portfolio was conducted to the highest standards according to ICH GCP principles, as well as achieving National Institute for Health Research performance targets. • Organisation of the Perioperative Quality Improvement Programme; working with the Principal Investigator to co-ordinate the processes involved in the feasibility assessment and the implementation of study protocols, including deviation reporting. Gained project management skills while sourcing and coding patient information into large data sets. Acted as a representative from the hospital, facilitating communications so that quarterly evaluations and conclusions published by the trial site could be embedded into established practices. • Responsibilities included chairing meetings where the progress of new, current and closed studies was discussed. • Maintained trial documents in accordance with requirements of research governance and European and English Law. • Worked with Steering Groups on the hospital’s net zero strategy, relaying messages back during team meetings. • ‘Good Clinical Practice’ and ‘Informed Consent for Adults Lacking Capacity’ training. Completed the ‘Care Certificate’

• Provided lessons to c. 20 pupils before important examinations. • Developed adaptable coaching skills whilst building confidence and passion for Maths, English, History and French. • The one-on-one sessions required in-depth subject knowledge in order to engage and motivate.
