CurrentBuilt hybrid clustering model (Self-Organizing Maps (SOM) and K-Means) for probabilistic rainfall prediction over Singapore and larger ASEAN region. Python library for retrieving VIIRS & Himawari-8 satellite data from LAADS DAAC & subsequently, MODAPS API, and via JAXA’s FTP server, respectively. Frontline support for in-house, integrated radar, satellite & other weather element monitoring web app. Adapting Fortran-based convective weather model for APAC region (validated against lightning). Improved evaluation statistics for sector-based weather elements (rainfall, visibility) warnings & forecasts. Performance metrics (POD, CSI, FAR, accuracy) generated for forecasters and in-house NWP (Numerical Weather Prediction) model.Chairman for Staff Welfare and Recreation Committee (SWRC) at MSS, leading team of 2 for events and benefits planning, budgeting, procurement and execution processes to serve our colleagues.Committee member for NEA's Sports and Social Committee (SSC).
