My research focusd on identifying novel anti-cancer drugs using phenotypic and target based approaches. In addition to identifying lead compounds, I investigated their mechanisms of action and cellular targets.

• Developed R&D, regulatory and commercialization strategies for an injectable drug product targeting the multi-billion dollar back pain therapeutic market.• Identified and built relationships with contract research organizations to complement in-house R&D capability. • Developed business plan and played instrumental role in fundraising efforts.• Interviewed healthcare providers, payers and patients to identify the right customer segment

• Led a research project focusing on developing an innovative treatment option for chronic low back pain.• Co-developed a polymer drug delivery carrier with an international biopolymer manufacturer.• Worked closely with the University’s Office of Technology Transfer and a patent lawyer to develop an IP strategy. • Designed and managed an undergraduate research project.

• Co-authored a highly-cited (100+) seminal paper demonstrating a novel approach to treating neurodegenerative diseases. • Screened >55,000 small molecules to discover three molecules that inhibit heat shock protein 70 (Hsp70) and determined their mode of action – one of them improved cognitive functions in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease.• Developed blood-brain barrier permeable Hsp70 inhibitors.• Authored/co-authored 15 peer-reviewed articles
