Sydney is Correctional Program Officer with experience in the mental health, housing, and child welfare sectors. After completing a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Development Studies and Gender and Women’s Studies at Dalhousie University, she returned to her hometown of Belleville, Ontario to pursue a diploma in Social Service Worker at Loyalist College. Sydney is currently a Bachelor of Social Work Candidate through Dalhousie University’s Distance Delivery Program. Through her many work, volunteer and extra-curricular activities, Sydney has developed the ability to advocate for the needs of an individual or group and assist them in finding the appropriate resources to help them succeed. Sydney enjoys working collaboratively with her team members and clients to ensure that they are fulfilled in various aspects of their life. Sydney feels a strong sense of purpose when she is able to help others reach their personal and professional goals.Through the work that Sydney conducts in the social service and corrections sectors, she hopes to continue to hone these skills and be a lifelong learner. When Sydney is not working, she can be know to love houseplants, baking and reading.
