The multi-state synapses can be written by voltage and read by light.• Applied CrossSim simulator to train a two-layer artificial neural network composed of above designed crossbar arrays and achieved a testing classification accuracy of 97.74% on the popular MNIST digit benchmark.Project 4: Unit-cell Thick Domain in Quasi-2D Ferroelectric Material• Proposed a novel design concept and an effective model system for ferroelectric devices demanding small domain size (e.g., non-volatile high density memory) based on the understanding of how quasi-2D materials structure affects the domain wall energy.• Collaborated with a computer scientist to write Python script to characterize atomic displacements in STEM images and revealed 180° ferroelectric domains down to one-unit-cell wide.Project 5: Circular Photogalvanic and Linear Photogalvanic Effect in Epitaxial Non-Stoichiometric Lead Halide Perovskite Films Heterostructure
