As part of the Video Systems Engineering department, my roles in the Cable System Integration & Test group included:- Quality assurance testing within embedded applications and as part of an interactive system- Developing test plans (manual and automated), defining requirements, user stories, and test cases- Executing integration and regression testing of code releases, including sanity, stress, exploratory, and other tests- Architecting test racks, including load-balanced power, RF distribution (cable and satellite) and automation gear- Analyzing and troubleshooting set-top issues, interactive (VOD) problems, cable plant issues, and other factors that affected testing or diminished the customer experience- Working with branch warehouses to facilitate deployment processes and define best practices- Interfacing with tech support and field staff of vendors (Motorola, Pace, Rovi, etc.) to isolate and characterize issues, identify and formulate resolutions, and manage deployment of fixes in the form of code releases/upgrades- Provided technical support to front line support, social media forums, and field technicians in the form of direct correspondence, technical tips/bulletins, release notes, and others- Interfaced directly with customers (subscribers of services), internal support and service delivery colleagues, right through to vendor developers and engineers- Demonstrating expertise regarding all aspects of consumer digital cable set-top boes (Motorola DCTs and Pace products)- Use of defect tracking systems, source control, release management, and collaboration tools- Use of billing system and other tools for troubleshooting, tracking, forensics, administrative tasks, etc.- First and foremost, I was passionate about advocating for the end-user (the customer) of our products

Developed/maintained applications related to petroleum reserves management and oil/gas production analysis/forecasting. Applications were developed in VB5/6, as well as C#/.NET2.0. Some Visual C++ was also used to build ActiveX DLLs to bridge the gap between third-party APIs and VB. Applications were database-centric, with Oracle 8/9 being the primary DB and various other databases/file format supported.Specialty included user-interface analysis, development, and refactoring of applications to ensure a consistent, logical, and work-flow centric GUI.

Developed graphical interface applications in VB5/6 which communicated with network of hardware for maintenance, operations, etc. Also served various roles as web developer, network provisioner, data/voice tech, etc.
