Basically my job as a medical coder is Extremely important. I'm basically the key to insuring proper reimbursement to health care professionals such as physicians and companies such as insurance companies like medicare and medicaid. Medical coding is the process of translating health care providers documentation more commonly surgical procedures of a patients encounter into a series of numeric amd alpha numeric codes. They are separated code sets to describe diagnosis, Medical and surgical services procedures and supplies these code said serve as a universal shorthand language to ease data collection for example the track is disease and evaluate the quality of care, and determining costs and reimbursement for Healthcare Companies, more commonly Insurance companies like Medicare and Medicade. As a CPC‐A I myself am cleared to code as any CPC, but my work may be double checked by a group of veteran coders or depending on company like AAPC I also am required to extend my practice and training on my own time so that I can eventually get cleared to higher salary.
