I was a PhD candidate working on developing a fast and user-friendly coarse-grained computational protein energetics model. In brief, this model calculates an interaction free energy contribution for every amino acid residue in a protein or peptide. I applied this model towards predicting mutational stability changes, engineering peptide antigens with enhanced stability for antibodies, and developing a potential microfluidic diagnostic immunoassay platform. I presented my work at five national conferences and co-authored four peer-reviewed journal articles (an additional two pending submission approval).Currently working on comparing the model's output to published molecular dynamics protein folding data.

TA for the undergraduate Kinetics, Transport, and Thermodynamics course for two semesters in the Biomedical Engineering department. I was responsible for mentoring students during office hours and exam review sessions as well as grading homework assignments, exams, and quizzes.

I worked on developing a bridging immunoassay to detect circulating anti-drug antibodies and assess the immunogenicity of a biotherapeutic drug. I also assisted with projects involving flow cytometry and cell proliferation assays. I presented my work in poster and PowerPoint form to the general company and department heads.
