Zachary has been with Northwestern Mutual Real Estate since 2010 and has served as a Director - Production since 2013. In this role, Zachary sources new mortgage loan and real estate equity investments and services a portfolio of mortgage loans, focusing on the Northeastern United States. Zachary has negotiated over $6 billion of investments during his career with NMRE. Drawing on his real estate legal background, Zachary has particular skill in complex deal structures and is a strong negotiator. He has innovated new products at NMRE and regularly assists in refining existing product lines and NMRE business processes. In addition to his production and servicing responsibilities, Zachary serves on NMRE’s loan documentation committee and leads a monthly real estate business training program he developed called NMRE University that all NMRE Analysts and Associates attend. Zachary also frequently leads various NMRE special projects and department initiatives, including its recruiting efforts. Zachary started his career as an attorney in Chicago where he gained a foundation in general commercial real estate law, including title/survey, leasing, acquisitions/dispositions, joint venture agreements, and lender representation. He is admitted to practice law in Illinois, New York, and Wisconsin. He has a B.A. in Religious Studies/Philosophy and a Management Certificate from Indiana University, Bloomington; a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis; and an M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University.
