Senior Software Developer
Full stack development on a small team using Agile Scrum framework to plan and execute work.Currently working on refactoring a highly customized nopCommerce (ASP.NET Core) site from legacy monolithic architecture into new REST APIs consumed by a Single Page Application (SPA). This will allow us to deploy releases at a faster cadence, give us more flexibility in upgrading dependencies, frameworks, and libraries, and it will minimize the risk of unintentional disruptions. This increases our ability to pivot on business strategies and accomplish goals in a more timely fashion. The REST APIs are created with ASP.NET Core, and follow the [JSON:API](https://jsonapi.org/) format. We are using Entity Framework to connect to our Microsoft SQL database. The SPA is built using a custom frontend framework, similar to Angular, React, etc.
Software Engineer Iii
Full stack development on a fairly large team of extremely talented people. We followed the agile scrum framework to organize and plan the work.Contributed to a highly interactive Single Page Application (SPA) as well as to the REST APIs it consumed. The SPA was built in the Angular and Bootstrap frameworks. The rest APIs were written in C# .NET Core. We used Entity Framework with SQL databases for data storage.Practiced test driven development. We were using Jasmine and Karma for unit testing in the SPA. For unit testing in the APIs, used xUnit.net.Mentored junior developers, and also embraced every opportunity to be mentored by engineers more senior than myself. We collaborated during paired programming sessions as well as through our merge/pull request process.
Sr. Engineer
During my time at NM, I contributed to a number of different projects. The most notable one was referred to as "Join, Move, Leave" or JML. It was an Human Resources effort to automate many of the tasks associated with onboarding new employees, moving employees into different roles within the company, and termination. For this greenfield project, I was the lead developer of a small team that collaborated with stakeholders to define and document existing business processes for HR. We designed a system consisting of several microservices that would automate much of the processes, such as updating team rosters, assigning work tickets, etc. We followed the agile scrum framework to organize, plan, and execute our project. These microservices were hosted in AWS as Docker containers orchestrated by Kubernetes. We used GitLab CI/CD pipelines for deployment. The pipelines had steps to scan the code and Docker Images for potential bugs and security flaws. Most of the microservices were Node.js (Express). One, however was a Flowable (Java Spring Boot) app that was the "brain". It kept track of the processes and communicated with the other microservices through REST APIs to accomplish tasks in in our business processes. For example, if a manager needed to be notified of a manual task, like choosing a computer for their new employee, Flowable would send an API request to our notifications microservice to carry that out. We exercised test driven development for everything we worked on. We used Mocha and Chai for the node.js apps, and JUnit for the Spring Boot Flowable app. Automation of these processes resulted in increased efficiency and quality as well as decreased man hours and human error.
Developer
As is the case with many small companies, I wore many hats while working for Crescendo Collective. I often had the opportunity to interface with clients. I absolutely loved interacting with them, and helping them realize their goals. Another very rewarding part about this job was being part of a big team, mentoring others, and learning from each other. I was the lead iOS developer on an app that generated native iOS apps for car and powersports dealerships. A dealership could customize it to their liking by choosing different colors, inserting their logo, setting store hours, sync their inventory, etc. The app would then go through Apple's approval process and become available in the App Store. Customers of that dealership could then download the app to browse inventory, mark vehicles as favorites, receive notifications for price drops, and many other things.I also did a lot of full stack development for a wide variety of clients. Most of these were websites developed within Magnolia, a content management system. Magnolia's back end is Java, but we used a wide variety of frameworks on the front end. There were a couple Python Flask and Django projects I enjoyed working on as well. These were small websites used for things like product promotions. I primarily worked as a back end developer on these, but did a bit of front end as well. One of my favorite projects I worked on during my time at Crescendo was a Google Cardboard app built in Unity 3d written in C#. You could look around in different VR environments, and "gaze" at a things to get more information about them and/or to make some kind of action happen.

Some of these were developed internally, and some were developed by external agencies.Other duties included but not limited to:- frontend design and development- graphic design- iOS development (internal apps)- technical writing
Web Designer/Front End Developer
Front end web design and development. Developed highly interactive, custom online training deployed in a SCORM compliant Learning Management System. These training modules were localized into as many as 16 different languages. To accomplish that, I created a framework that dynamically loaded content specific to the language selection of the learner. This included XML language files, as well as audio, video, and graphics files. The framework also allowed for closed captioning for hearing impaired learners.
Web Designer/Front End Developer
Intern - Web Designer/Front End Developer
During my senior year of college, I got an 18 month long internship at Harley-Davidson. At the end of the 18 months, I needed to go back to school to finish up one semester. At that time I switched from being on-site to working remotely, so that I could continue working while I finished up my undergraduate degree.
