At my internship with Amazon, I was tasked with refactoring the codebase and updating the internal-use EC2 credentials website backend from SQLite to DynamoDB. The site was built in Ruby-on-Rails and had to be updated to follow modern MVC convention. I also worked on a REST API to allow for other Amazon services to consume credential and user permissions data from the DynamoDB efficiently written in node.js.My biggest takeways from this internship would be understanding migration and schema design between relational and non-relational databases, experience with web backend development, RESTful API design and implementation and developing a foundational knowledge of security infrastructure design.

I worked on iOS Mobile Development with the Mobile Developers of Berkeley Team. I created several applications which allowed me to gain experience with iOS MVC design paradigms, integrating and designing mobile REST APIs, and integrating non-relational databases with a mobile client.

At my internship with Northrop Grumman, I worked on several software problem reports for the Milstar Satellite Constellation. This design process consisted of having to write formal Preliminary, Detailed, and Code Design Reports. In addition I also worked on a tool in C that was used to read a file and parse and prime strings for authentication and secure sign-on purposes on a closed server.Unfortunately the nature of much of my work at Northrop Grumman cannot be disclosed. The key takeaway from the internship for me personally was gaining an aptitude for designing code for large systems and all that entails (thread analysis, calling trees, airtight memory management, etc.)​
