Amaranth Capital is an equity investment manager with a value investing philosophy, focused on growing wealth for the long-term. Inspired by the teachings of Ben Graham and Warren Buffett, Amaranth invests in publicly traded companies with an ownership mindset. As value investors, we try to identify fundamentally strong businesses that trade at a significant discount to their fair value. We manage individual investment accounts on behalf of our investors. Our fees are performance-based, meaning if we don’t deliver returns, we don’t get paid. We have also invested a significant portion of our net worth alongside our investors and personally share in the risks, as well as the upside. While Amaranth's goal is capital appreciation, our first priority will always be capital preservation. We aim to achieve average annualized returns of 20%+ over the long-term, as well as to outperform the passive benchmarks. To accomplish this, we take a contrarian approach and often invest in businesses with negative investor sentiment, which has pushed valuations to irrational lows. We welcome stock price volatility and view it as one of the most important factors that allows successful value investors to consistently beat the market. Since inception in 2020, we have delivered an average gross return of 30%+ per year for our investors, outperforming the S&P for 4 years in a row.
