Barafaka family operates in the space of vineyard since 1920 in the area of Nemea ,where because of the history of our region and especially our family , our grandparents were growing vineyards.From the early age, we were dealing with the vineyards, there was the place that we were playing, there we grew up.These vineyards grew up our parents, us and our children.These vineyards gave us the right to create targets in our lives and make dreams. Estate Barafaka is a creature of Christos Barafakas.On 2002, in the modern winery, begins the first vinification of 80 acres of the family’s vineyards in Nemea, which is one of the biggest wine growing-region of Greece with ambassador the Agiorgitiko and international varieties of grapes. Estate Barafaka produces 150.000 bottles per year, from which the labels are the following:Ampeloy Idea Nemea red, Ampeloy Idea White and Ampeloy Idea Roze.Also the label Nemea P.O.P, An aged wine, ‘Fessi’ from the varieties Agiorgitiko-Cabernet Sauvignon an aged wine, too.’Xilia Xronia’, is the name of the white wine from the variety Chardonnay, an aged wine for 3 months in barrels and at the end ‘Fylaxto’ a sweet wine from the variety Asirtiko. All of the Barafaka’s wines have participated in competitions and have won gold and silver awards in some very popular and international wines.
