Bees & Refugees: Our Mission
Goals:
1. Environmental Sustainability:
• With declining bee populations posing significant risks, our project aims to increase local bee populations through sustainable and organic beekeeping practices.
2. Therapeutic Support and Empowerment:
• Leveraging personal experience, we recognize beekeeping as a therapeutic occupation that can help refugees overcome anxiety and PTSD. Additionally, it provides extra financial support to participants. Our program is open to all interested refugees, with a specific focus on supporting women.
Project Outline:
Bees & Refugees primarily focuses on offering beekeeping workshops to local refugees, covering hive making and queen rearing methods. We provide technical and logistical support by supplying starter beekeeping kits, including hives, and offering spaces for the hives to be placed.
