The Center for Bionics and Pain Research (CBPR) was founded in 2020 by Prof. Max Ortiz Catalan thanks to generous donations from the Promobilia Foundation and the IngaBritt and Arne Lundberg Research Foundation.
The core of our engineering group was previously known as the Biomechatronics and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory (ChalmersBNL), which then grew into CBPR by incorporating medical researchers. Since 2024, our core research continues at NeuroBioniX in Melbourne, Australia.
