CHORUS advances sustainable, cost-effective public access to journal articles reporting on funded research in ways that benefit all in the scholarly communications community. Built on widespread open technology, CHORUS provides a unified framework that works across the spectrum of public-access policies and in concert with diverse proprietary and public access license terms — with no disruptive consequences. CHORUS’ distributed-access approach avoids unnecessary duplication of effort and expense by directing search results to content in context on the original article publication site. CHORUS promotes collaboration, sparks innovation, and broadens the dialogue among publishers, funders, service providers, researchers, and other stakeholders; we do not take positions on issues or advocate for policies. CHORUS is the first initiative of CHOR, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable membership organization.
