About Critical Minerals Equipment Hub

The Critical Minerals Equipment Hub is a brand new, nationally unique facility for the Geo-Resources sector. The Hub, based at the Camborne School of Mines, in Cornwall, provides state-of-the-art and green mineral processing equipment and expertise, which will be accessible to the region’s business, research and development sectors. The Hub addresses the unique opportunity arising from the region’s abundance of green technology metals (including copper, lithium, tin and tungsten) that are important for continued UK economic growth in a rapidly growing market. The Hub expands Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly’s technical capability, will lower analytical costs and time delays, raised through-put and accelerated RD&I across the geo-resources sector, boosting shared prosperity and economic growth in a rapidly growing market. This project is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Cornwall Council has been chosen by Government as a Lead Authority for the fund and is responsible for monitoring the progress of projects funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
