The Coastal Development Partnership (CDP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the public interest and promoting development justice. Established in 1997, CDP primarily operates in the coastal region of Bangladesh, working with marginalized communities and local organizations to achieve peace, human security, climate resilience, and development justice. Since its inception, CDP has been a strong advocate for policy changes, development effectiveness, and good governance on both national and international levels. CDP monitors and critically engage with the International Financial Institutions (ADB, World Bank & IMF), Donors (OECD-DAC) and UN policy processes. The purpose (mission) of the CDP is "to capacitate the deprived and discriminated people, communities, people’s organizations, grassroots NGOs and local civil societies to achieve development justice and people’s climate resilience". CDP, through networking over the last 25 years, has recognized as a reliable member & capable leader in many international networks. To address entrenched inequality between men and women CDP is explicitly biased towards women and women's rights. All CDP interventions try to ensure more than equal and active participation of the women. As CDP works are guided by community driven actions, the organization is bound to try new approaches, methods or issues to meet community demands.
