Synapse, a platform connecting young people with Behavioural Health Coaches. Behavioural Health Coaching is a non-clinical intervention designed to help young people manage their emotions, improve their behaviour, and enhance their mental wellbeing. It is not intended to diagnose or treat mental health disorders, but rather to teach and ingrain skills and strategies to deal with life’s challenges. The role of a behavioural coach is to provide psychosocial support, rather than to act as a clinician, to help young people improve their emotional, cognitive and behavioural responses. A coach provides constructive feedback, promotes self-reflection, and assists with goals. Through this collaborative approach, young people take control of their emotions, gain self-awareness, develop healthier habits, acquire coping mechanisms, and build self-confidence, social competence and, ultimately, resilience.
