Crafting Care

Crafting Care is a remarkable arts-in-medicine community initiative, proudly established in the heart of Gainesville, FL, and operating under the esteemed banner of Equal Access Research. Since our launch in January 2023, we have united passionate members who share a common goal: to create and give back to those in need. Through the skillful art of crocheting, we have handcrafted and donated over 100 winter headbands to the compassionate organization, Blossoming Butterfly, dedicated to supporting individuals facing unexpected cancer diagnoses. Additionally, we have extended our care to the Gainesville Child Advocacy Center and Shand's Children’s Hospital, where 40 stress balls and 80 worry worm sensory toys have brought moments of relief and comfort to the youth. As part of our commitment to sustainability and the environment, Crafting Care takes pride in our contribution to reducing plastic waste. We have ingeniously transformed recycled plastic bags into renewable stress balls, providing a positive impact on both the planet and the lives we touch. Our dedication to artistic expression and community engagement culminated in a memorable showcase last April 2023. Our talented members crafted a crochet-curated outfit, captivating hearts and minds with their creativity and passion. At Crafting Care, we continue to be inspired by the positive change we bring to those we serve, and we remain steadfast in our mission to combine the healing power of art with boundless compassion for a brighter, more caring world.
