CUMMINGS FOUNDATION

Established in 1986 by Joyce and Bill Cummings of Winchester, MA, Cummings Foundation is one of the largest private foundations in New England. Based in Woburn, it has been the beneficiary of substantial contributions from the Cummings family, often through commercial real estate firm Cummings Properties. The Foundation has awarded more than $500 million to date in greater Boston alone. Its signature philanthropic initiative is the annual Cummings $30 Million Grant Program. Cummings Foundation also directly operates its own charitable subsidiaries, including two New Horizons retirement communities and Cummings Health Sciences, LLC. Cummings Foundation’s grant-making affiliates primarily support nonprofits serving Middlesex, Essex, Suffolk, and Norfolk counties in Massachusetts.
