Equit-I, IIM Indore

Equit-I, the Finance Club of IIM Indore was conceptualised by PGP participants to foster interest and prepare the student community by providing with a hands-on experience in the finance domain. The club strives to be an important partner in an MBA student’s career development by creating various learning opportunities including industry interactions. The club brings numerous live projects to the students throughout the year including projects in the field of Equity Research, Corporate Finance and Derivative Research, to name a few. Equit-I assists participants in knowledge enhancement by bringing value adding certifications on various financial topics preparing them specifically for finance roles. The club also assists participants in preparing for their summer and final placements by providing preparatory material on key topics like IPO, M&A and Valuation basics. The club conducts various fun-filled finance events like: 1. Finstake – The event marks the start of the academic with a rigorous quiz covering recent events, popular knowledge followed by a party game approach to engage students with financial concepts. 2. Jackstrat – This event tests the participant’s creative and analytical thinking by testing the understanding of industry synergies and macro-economic knowledge in creating a well-balanced portfolio. 3. Margin Call – The event features a corporate raiding game marked by bidding and conquering resources. 4. Mantrana – This B-school finance event is conducted over three days as a part of IRIS, IIM Indore’s PGP fest. 5. Analysis Paralysis – A national level event testing the participant’s financial acumen and highlighting their valuation skills through pitchbook presentation. Some initiatives to keep the participants updated: 1. WTW – For all the finance and business enthusiasts, a weekly newsletter publishing industry news. 2. Dealscope – A periodical covering eminent M&A deals in the industry helping students understand deal points and rationale.
