F'n K Tacos was born from a dream that started in the 1970s in East LA. Frank Lamas (the "F") was so inspired by his parents and the restaurant they had when he was growing up that later in life he got the itch to follow in his dad's footsteps. First he and his wife, Kaitlin (the "K"), opened a taco pop-up where they lived on California's Central Coast. They traveled to their customers fully equipped to make & serve tacos on-site, popping up a tent, setting up the grill, and making everything right there, including hand-pressed corn tortillas.
After they relocated to Michigan, they began to look for the perfect little brick-and-mortar spot to re-launch, and in March 2022, they found it right in the town they call home, Rockford, Michigan!
What sets them apart is simple. They're committed to using fresh, high-quality ingredients, creating authentic flavors, and providing great service. This was their focus back in California, and it remains their focus in Michigan as they bring the California taco vibe to the fresh coast.
