VanFEVA or ‘Vanvadi Forest Eco-versity Association’ is a ‘not-for-profit’, Section 8 Company, with a wide range of objectives, particularly ecological conservation, education and sustainable ‘lively-hoods’. It is formed by Dilip Jain with some members of Vanvadi Forest to take further the vision of an alternative learning centre that works locally on practically addressing the big environmental challenges that the world faces – diminishing fresh water availability, loss of food sovereignty and security, and rapid decline of biodiversity. (Much of the earth’s soil, water and air are severely degraded and polluted, resulting in the extinction of a huge number of species of flora and fauna in the last 50-100 years).
VanFEVA envisions the first of its kind ‘forest ecoversity’ at Vanvadi. Several members of Vanvadi (VARA) have extended their wholehearted support, and allowed the use of a part of their individual share of land for the functioning of VanFEVA. They are also actively involved in shaping the shared vision of Vanvadi and VanFEVA.
