UPRISE is a pioneering research initiative focused on understanding the impact of ultrafine particulate matter (UFPs) and micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs) on fetal health. As environmental pollution rises, the effects of airborne pollutants on pregnancy outcomes have become a growing concern. Our mission is to investigate how exposure to these pollutants contributes to preterm birth (PTB), adverse birth outcomes (ABOs), and long-term health risks, including non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
By bridging the gap between environmental science and public health, UPRISE generates critical scientific evidence to inform policy changes, air quality standards, and targeted interventions—ultimately protecting the most vulnerable: developing fetuses and future generations. 🌍👶
