The Hugo Grotius Society is a non-profit science and research organization (NPO) for the advancement of legal sciences, which was established in Germany in 2014. The Hugo Grotius Society prepares scientific opinions and participates in German and EU multidisciplinary public research projects through its independent research institutes: - Institute for IT, Media and Intellectual Property Law (MLS LEGAL) - Institute for the Law of the Sea and International Marine Environmental Law (ISRIM) The Hugo Grotius Society is also a non-governmental organization (NGO) for science diplomacy. It is in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations (UN) since 2023 as well as in observer status with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The main office of the Hugo Grotius Society is in Bremen, Germany and its representative office is in Geneva, Switzerland. The Hugo Grotius Society is accredited to the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and to the United Nations Headquarters in New York. We support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
