An EPSRC funded hub, lead at the University of Bristol and in collaboration with the Universities of Cambridge, Durham and Imperial. The hub aims to tackle the problem of how to get AI systems to work together using information theory, a mathematical theory that helps understand fundamental limits of information processing systems and has been instrumental in the deployment of technologies as diverse as mobile networks, the internet, data compression, and deep-space communications. Using a multidimensional approach, the Hub aims to provide insights and novel approaches into the best ways to deal with large datasets and different approaches to AI, in order to increase reliability and improve privacy.
