About ITAC | International Teaching Artists Collaborative
ITAC is a global network which supports teaching artists to continually improve their practice, creates opportunities for international collaboration, and provides a platform for increased visibility, support, and status of artists' work. Since 2012, ITAC has organised biennial conferences which provide an important platform for: - sharing practice, learning and research in the field of participatory arts - showcasing best and next practice for the host and visiting nations - generating new connections and building a palpable energy towards an international community. The first groundbreaking ITAC Conference (ITAC1) took place in Norway in 2012 - the success of which prompted a commitment to organising conferences every two years: 2014 - ITAC2 - Brisbane, Australia 2016 - ITAC3 - Edinburgh, UK 2018 - ITAC4 - New York, USA 2020 - ITAC5 - Seoul, South Korea (online event) 2022 - ITAC6 - Oslo, Norway ITAC runs monthly Think Tanks, through which a host from a different part of the world shares insights about their work, encourages discussion, and helps participants to develop their own practice. In 2021, ITAC is embarking on a pioneering project ITAC IMPACT: Climate - commissioning artists around the globe to design and deliver participatory projects to combat climate change. ITAC became a registered charity in 2018.
