Jockey Club TourHeart+ Project

Carrying on the success of the online stepped care model in the initial 3 years of the Jockey Club TourHeart Project, we are continuing our work in this extension project, Jockey Club TourHeart+ Project (JCTH+), to further harness the power of technology in delivering more personalized and precise mental health solutions to targeted working adults. Living in an overworked city like Hong Kong, the stress and long working hours might easily wear down one’s motivation for seeking help. For working adults in particular, cost, time, privacy and stigmatisation are all realistic barriers to their timely help-seeking behaviours. In this regard, we strive to promote working adults’ accessibility to feasible and reliable psychological resources/aids in Hong Kong. With a one-stop psychological self-help platform planned to debut in Dec 2021, JCTH+ will offer an array of evidence-based psychological intervention online. At the time, people can reach help with the platform anytime, anywhere. In line with the stepped care model, the users can get personalised, self-guided trainings in accordance with their self-assessment results. Mindfulness-based Training, Self-compassion Practice and Cognitive Behavioral Training, for example, will cater to those who reported the needs for boosting their self-understanding and self-care. With the growth of online communities, we aim to develop a virtual support network for members. Within the supportive network, we hope to facilitate social connections, shared understanding and empowerment. Webinars, offline workshops, and group therapy will also be provided to further bolster users’ mental health practice.
