With a vision to promote the legacy and tradition of Brand JGEC and it's all stakeholders right from the college campus, creating a seamless bridge between the alumnus, student and the college administration, The Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College Alumni Association has started their dream journey by registering on 22-April-2010 from Registrar of Societies West Bengal Act XXVI of 1961 (vide No. S/L/70053 of 2010-11 ) with permission from prevailing JGEC Principal Dr. Jyotirmoy Jhampati to function from College Administrative Building in his letter to Mr. D. Sarkar, then President of the Alumni Association, dated 07-April-2010.
The aim of the Alumni Association is to create a platform for all the alumnus across the world to connect back to their alma mater and to enhance the college experience through fun, memorable events and value addition towards the cause of overall academic elevation of the college by arranging extended value added lectures, seminars, exhibitions, innovation workshops, creating industry interface, facilitating training & placement and developing a healthy socio-technical interaction with the Society by way of conducting awareness and appraisal programmes.
