LMA Optimizer BV is developing LarynxLock to support anesthesiologists and emergency medical technicians in solving leakages during ventilation with a Supraglottic Airway Device (SAD), such as the Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA).
LarynxLock is an add-on device consisting of a flexible headband and an anatomically-shaped pusher. The pusher applies targeted external pressure to the bottom part of the mouth, sealing the soft tissue against the SAD. This way, the SAD leakage is reduced to an acceptable level, and the patient remains stable.
Advantages of using LarynxLock:
- The caregivers have their hands free.
- Lower risk for the patient compared to a more invasive intubation.

- No need to change airway management methods and risk an unexpected difficult airway.
