Llanelli Mind has provided services since 1986 to local people and is affiliated to Mind nationally. We deliver services locally and more widely across the county of Carmarthenshire. We campaign and seek to influence the provision of mental health and social care services locally and nationally.
Our mission is to provide appropriate and timely support for those with mental ill health, their carers, and their families.
Our vision is for all people suffering mental ill health to receive the support they need to recover and live a fulfilled life. We also want to see more positive awareness of mental ill health, and for everyone to be able to recognise the signs of their own mental health needs.
Our aims are to promote the preservation of mental health and to assist in relieving and rehabilitating persons suffering from mental disorder or conditions of emotional or mental distress requiring advice or treatment and relieving the charitable needs of carers and families.
To promote the study of and research into mental health disorder and emotional or mental distress and to obtain and make records of and disseminate to the useful results of such research and to educate the public in matters relating to mental health.
Our ambition is to be a truly open, accepting and inclusive organisation, providing services to all those that need us, regardless of ability, age, gender identity, race, religion, sexuality or language. The diversity within our communities across Llanelli and Carmarthenshire is what makes it such a vibrant place to live, and we will do everything we can to make our services as accessible and welcoming to all!
