Matri Sudha-A Charitable Trust

One day Ms. Jasbir Kaur felt very upset to see the condition of children in one of the urban slums in Delhi late 90's. She, along with her husband went to her Professor, Sir Sydney Reberio as how children's lives could be improved. The long hours discussion resulted into a non-formal school in Madanpur Khadar, Southeast Delhi. In February 2001, Matri Sudha got established and Ms. Jasbir Kaur along with her husband Mr. Surender Singh left their jobs. They completely devoted themselves to serve children and shifted to Nardan Basti, Southeast Delhi. With their education programme, which they used to provide, they mainstreamed hundreds of children to local schools in the next ten years. In 2011, their years of work got noticed by Child Rights and You (CRY) and the partnership was rolled out to bring sustainable changes in the lives of children and their caregivers.
