metaCCAZE Project

metaCCAZE is designed to accelerate the user-centric adoption of smart systems, electric, automated and connected mobility and related infrastructure in European cities. metaCCAZE is designed to transition cities into the era of green metamobility, which the EU's Green Deal, 2ZERO, CCAM, Climate and Neutral Smart Cities Mission and other EU partnerships are aiming for by 2030 and beyond. Transport in general is the second largest source of greenhouse gas emissions and is responsible for more than 30% of total energy consumption. The Green Deal and other EU-wide decisions aim to reduce transport-related greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2050, put at least 30 million zero-emission cars on European roads, move almost all motorized vehicles emission-free and have 100 climate-neutral cities by 2030. In order to achieve these ambitious goals, a paradigm shift is required, including in the operation of electric vehicles, which addresses the current weaknesses and, for example, improves the charging infrastructure for the existing and planned number of electric vehicles. This project, funded by the European Union and involving a consortium of leading experts and institutions across Europe, aspires to develop cutting-edge strategies and technologies as well as a toolkit with six smart technologies that cover transportation (public transport, on-demand minibuses, bike sharing, delivery) and related infrastructure.
