Orion Strategic Ventures helps its corporate partners build and manage sophisticated venture investment programs through a novel, P&L friendly model. Prior to starting Orion in 2022, founders Scott Davidson and Matt Gunderman worked together closely for more than half a decade at Boston Scientific. Scott led Venture Capital and Global Strategy at Boston, having joined the company in 2016 following two decades investing in and analyzing health technology companies at several funds and investment banks. Over his nearly 20-year career at Boston Scientific, Matt held GM and VP roles which included leadership of business development, venture capital, divisional strategy, and numerous commercial supporting functions. Together, Scott and Matt developed and refined best practices on the execution and management of venture capital investments. Their complimentary career journeys led them to create Orion Strategic Ventures as a means of sharing their expertise more broadly.
