OWIT UGANDA Chapter

OWIT UGANDA - Organization of Women in International Trade Uganda - is one of the newest chapters of OWIT International (www.owit.org), a global organization fostering international trade and the advancement of women in business and trade. The Uganda Chapter was founded by OWIT Uganda President - Lucia Namubiru - owner of Lunas Enterprises Uganda LTD., a manufacturer of high quality and unique sweaters. OWIT Uganda aims to empower local women manufacturers and service providers through training, networking, and access to new markets. Ms. Namubiru was inspired to start the chapter after connecting with OWIT International and seeing an opportunity to uplift women entrepreneurs in Uganda. OWIT Uganda will help members expand their businesses and evolve into the digital marketplace. The chapter plans to facilitate connections through networking events and social media, provide training to build members’ capacity, and promote members’ quality products to local and global markets. By bringing together women manufacturers, service providers, and entrepreneurs across Uganda, OWIT Uganda seeks to open opportunities for economic growth, community building, information sharing, and advancement of women in business.
