PHOENIX GENERAL is “the new general store” showcasing a collection of clothing and lifestyle gifts inspired by our modern, desert city. Co-owners and Phoenix-natives Kenny Barrett & Joshua Hahn craft their creative interpretation of Phoenix’s iconic desert-vibe via the creation of in-house product lines as well as hand-selecting a collection of gifts from local, regional, and international designers & artists. As LGBTQIA entrepreneurs, our journey has been shaped by the challenges and resilience inherent to our community. Being part of a historically underrepresented group has instilled in us a deep sense of empathy, determination, and the importance of creating inclusive spaces. These values are reflected in Phoenix General Store, where we prioritize diversity and support local artisans from various backgrounds. Navigating biases and breaking stereotypes has been challenging, but it has also fueled our drive to succeed and create opportunities for others. This perspective has allowed us to build a business that not only thrives on unique products but also fosters a sense of belonging and community. Our experiences have made us more adaptable, innovative, and committed to social impact, driving the success and growth of Phoenix General Store while advocating for equality and representation in the business world.
