Project Surya

Project Surya is an internationally recognized non-profit, youth-led initiative started by 15-year-old Future Leader and Diana Awardee, Divaa Uthkarsha, a high school UNSDG3 advocate. We aim to help underprivileged type one diabetic children living in India lead a better quality of life with respect to their diabetes. We work under the 3rd United Nations Sustainable Developmental Goal, Good Health and Well-Being. We want to see a world where juvenile diabetics are free of suffering and accessing insulin is easy and we envision a world where there are fewer deaths due to this chronic condition. Making the treatment affordable, accessible and sustainable. We have a three-pronged action plan consisting of awareness, advocacy and funding. Each of these aspects is extremely quintessential and is a 360-degree approach to solving all inter-connected issues the targetted beneficiaries face. We hold fundraising events, campaigns, awareness sessions, workshops and a whole lot of activities to make a change! We have reached 3,00,000 people as of now, and are working on creating much more large-scale impact and sweetening lives! We have raised more than a million indian rupees to sponsor 5000 vials of life saving insulin for the t1 diabetic kids coming from remote villages and areas.
