Punjab Development Commission

The Punjab Development Commission (PDC), established in September 2023, is the Government of Punjab’s independent action-based think tank, working directly under the guidance of the Hon’ble Chief Minister. PDC was formed to address the growing need for strategic, evidence-driven governance and to help translate the state’s vision of "Rangla Punjab" into a tangible and sustainable reality. In today’s rapidly evolving governance landscape, PDC serves as a catalyst for long-term development by integrating expert insights, on-ground implementation, and citizen-centric policy design. With a focus on impactful reform, PDC is reshaping how the state approaches health, education, infrastructure, and economic development. Our Core Functions: 📌 Strategic Visioning: Crafting long-term development roadmaps (10–20 year horizons) to ensure environmental, social, and fiscal sustainability. 📊 Evidence-Based Policy Design: Leading in-depth research, data analysis, and innovation to inform robust policies tailored to Punjab’s context. 🚀 Implementation Support: Providing hands-on support to departments through field diagnostics, progress reviews, and actionable interventions for improved service delivery. 🗣️ Participatory Governance: Building bridges between government, citizens, and key stakeholders—industry, academia, civil society, and multilateral agencies. 📈 Monitoring & Evaluation: Establishing rigorous M&E frameworks to ensure accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across departments. PDC is building strong partnerships with domain experts and organizations across India to bring the best ideas, innovation, and execution capabilities to the State of Punjab.
