SHREWD was founded during the H1N1 Influenza Pandemic in 2009, to address the poor access to, and visibility of, real time information across the NHS. SHREWD's vision is to enable the National Health Service and social services to use real time information to make data-driven decisions about health and social care at a price that is accessible to all health and social care commissioners.
While data is important, the right data is essential. Individuals and organisations are becoming overwhelmed by the increasing amounts of data they have to collect and interpret. Understanding what is important to each organisation and making sense of it is what Transforming Systems does! After eight years of research and development we now know what a great data set looks like for each organisation, be it an acute hospital, an ambulance service, GP surgery or community provider.
All our solutions are co-designed with providers and commissioners and jointly embedded. Our computer science teams in the UK, India and Australia, in partnership with academia, continued to develop unique and versatile systems for capturing real time information and sharing it across health and social care. The next step on the journey is what you do with great data and we are now testing real time escalation, predictive systems and artificial intelligence.
