Sisters in Climate is a Nairobi-based, Pan-African ecofeminist force founded in 2023, born from the urgent need to center African women in the fight for climate justice. We are not just an organization — we are a movement grounded in the belief that African women must lead the way toward sustainable futures.
Our work lives at the vibrant intersection of gender, sustainability, and social equity. We exist to dismantle structures that have historically silenced African women's voices in climate discourse and to build bold, community-rooted alternatives. Through expert consultations, transformative workshops and fellowships, grassroots environmental projects, and powerful storytelling campaigns, we are reclaiming the narrative and shaping new realities for our communities.
We envision a continent where African women are architects of climate solutions — not an afterthought, but the foundation. Our approach is unapologetically collaborative, radically hopeful, and fiercely action-driven. We use every tool available, from social media platforms to community gatherings, to amplify African women’s leadership and ignite tangible, lasting change from the ground up.
