Skill Council for Persons with Disability

SCPwD was incepted on 01st October’ 2015 to fulfil the ‘Skill India’ initiative of the Honourable Prime Minister of India. The prime objective of SCPwD is to offer Persons with Disability (PwD) various opportunities for meaningful, industry relevant, skill based training to enable them to be gainfully employed, and avail opportunities of self-employment and entrepreneurship. The objective is to achieve meaningful inclusion, so that PwD can lead a life of dignity and get mainstreamed into society by earning a livelihood through quality skill training and contribute to growing economy of the country. SCPwD is registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and has a Governing Council with representation of Industry, Body/ Federation/ Association of Industries, Academia, Training Providers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), NGOs, Foundations, Govt. Representatives from MSDE, MSJE, NSDC and RCI. SCPwD is jointly promoted by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE) under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
