SLIIT KANDY UNI, an expansion of the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), is part of the institution's commitment to advancing education in Sri Lanka. Established in 1999, SLIIT initially aimed to address the growing demand for IT professionals in the country, evolving into a degree-awarding institute in 2000 with notable developments and expansions island wide.
With an eye on SLIITβs ambition to become South Asia's education hub, SLIIT KANDY UNI its latest addition located at Pallakele, Kandy, to establish the largest private university outside of Colombo. By 2022, SLIIT had grown exponentially, offering over 70-degree programs and catering to approximately 18,000 students. This endeavour aims to establish the largest private university outside of Colombo. This ambitious undertaking is expected to not only bolster the educational landscape but also generate new economic opportunities, mirroring the transformative impact witnessed in the vicinity of SLIIT's Malabe Campus.
