SS&L makes positive changes to people’s lives, through learning. We work across Somerset providing adult education, Apprenticeships and Pre-Apprenticeships. As well as offering skills, qualifications, professional training and development, we also invest heavily in community projects to help disadvantaged groups to improve their lives through learning.
We’re passionate about the inspiring and heart-warming work we do. We understand learning and development and we share this understanding with our students, partners and employers we work with.
Our recently upgraded centres across Somerset are accessible by public transport and most are located only a short distance from town centre facilities.
SS&L have a good Ofsted rating and each year we provide learning opportunities to over 10,000 people across Somerset and beyond, including back to work and employability training for young people and adults. The services we provide reach diverse and often forgotten demographics in Somerset and we are proud to provide such unique opportunities.
At SS&L, we aim to provide impactful training & development courses for businesses. Businesses benefit from developing staff - by improving skills, filling gaps in knowledge or simply ensuring they have the training to do their jobs safely and effectively. We host training & development courses at our centres or onsite.
We're passionate about supporting Somerset businesses to find and recruit apprentices, helping to grow local talent and provide job opportunities. We also offer traineeships for those who are not ready to tread the apprenticeship route.
SS&L delivers a Community Learning programme, including the management of a Community Learning Partnership (CLP) across Somerset. Our CLP ensures we reach people who will benefit most from our offer to acquire new skills, re-connect with learning to improve health & wellbeing, prepare for progression to vocational courses supporting entry into the workplace or further learning.
