The vision of STEP is to see all children across the Middle East growing up knowing that they are valued, respected and protected. To contribute to this vision, the mission of STEP is to provide quality child protection and psychosocial services to the most vulnerable children. STEP stands for ‘Seeking to Equip People’. To achieve this mission STEP works with local government departments and civil society organizations to build the capacity of care givers serving vulnerable children. The main goal of STEP is the establishment of a functional and integrated child protection system in Iraq, a system that offers protection to the most vulnerable children in need of care and protection including; working children, orphaned children, refugees, displaced children and children with special needs.
