SUSA is an architectural practice focused on reimagining the built environment, where the power of content drives the design and complexity of form. Rooted in diverse experiences and histories of transformation, our work is shaped by diasporic identities that bridge East and West. Through cutting-edge tools and fabrication methods, we challenge conventional uses of materials, aiming to free them from their traditional forms and explore their emergent qualities to create innovative and meaningful spaces for a sustainable future. We believe in the importance of collaboration, joy, and care throughout the design process. Our approach combines fabrication, robotics, and formal design with rigorous research, ensuring each project is grounded in the needs of both clients and communities. From buildings to exhibitions, publications, and installations, we craft spaces that are expressive and reflective of our deep commitment to sustainability, tools, identity, and the limitless possibilities of the built environment. SUSA is directed by Suzan Ibrahim and Sara Ibrahim, who are Swedish-Canadian-Iraqi, and licensed architects in both Toronto, Canada, and London, United Kingdom.
