The Transitional Year Programme (TYP) is one of the oldest access-into-university programs in Canada that has created successful graduates from the University of Toronto dating back to the 1970s; the program champions non-traditional adult learners with lived experiences to fulfill their educational goals by preparing for university through our full-time, 8-month transition year program.
The programme supports students who did not have an opportunity to continue their schooling because of financial problems, family difficulties or other circumstances beyond their control. TYP actively encourages applications from members of the Indigenous, Black and LGBTQ communities, sole-support parents, persons with disabilities, and individuals from backgrounds of all ethnicities
