USEUM.org

USEUM.org, which is a virtual art museum that exhibits 170,000 artworks from the Renaissance up to the present day, is one of the leading platforms that focus exclusively on painting and illustration, receiving thousands of visitors daily. USEUM has been promoting the work of (now more than 2,000) painters and illustrators since it was still a PhD project, providing a platform that is purposely designed for their medium and craft to be appreciated in a visually cluttered internet, dominated by smartphone photography. Driven by academic research, USEUM offers a range of features that make art more accessible to all (see Download Artworks). USEUM is often linked by big media sites, such as the BBC and the New Yorker, and it is regularly featured on major Chinese platforms like Zhihu and Weibo.
