VertAx Wind Ltd is a privately held company that owns IP for a revolutionary design of 10 MW off-shore Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT). It leads a group of technical development partners which includes four major UK industrial companies and a numbers specialist departments from five of the UK's leading universities. Although there is significant academic involvement, VertAx is not a university spin out. It is very much a commercial operation and all development work is contracted out to the relevant parties and all IP remains under the control of VertAx.
